Beautiful photos! Thoughtful interview!
ReplyDeletethank so much!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the feature, Justine! I love your photos and the interview is charming. I especially like your idea of using travel to mark the passage of time versus changes in oneself.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I think travel is so important for that reason - among many others, though!
ReplyDeletewhat a great piece! brings some of your experiences together with one thread. . .
ReplyDeletethank you - did you notice the model cred? ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the feature, Justine! I've just read the interview on Nicole's blog and I loved it. I completely relate to what you say about your love of fashion being really about the dream, not the product. It's reassuring to hear a thoughtful opinion on fashion photography. And I have to say that Bay of Angels is one of my favourite films too. A great film and one visually beautiful, in black and white, as well. How impeccable Jeanne Moreau looks in it: Jacques Demy wanted her costumes in black and white as well. I'm already a fan of your photography style.

Hey Ada! Thanks so much for these comments. I really do love that film, I think about it a lot - I think it's Demy's best (ok, I admit it, les parapluies de cherbourg is ridiculous, and on the other end, Lola just isn't as interesting). I didn't know that about Moreau's costumes, but that white suit she wears is just perfect - such a sad glamour.
